Dumpster rental in Greenville: check whose road it is
A dumpster rental in Greenville, SC is usually easy on a driveway. If you need the street, there is a South Carolina twist. The state's Department of Transportation maintains an unusually large share of the roads, including many in neighborhoods. So a street that looks like a quiet city lane may be an SCDOT road. Find out who maintains it before you ask for permission; the City of Greenville handles its own streets, SCDOT handles the rest.
We do not list fees or timelines for either. They change, and we would rather send you to the right office than print a guess.
Greenville neighborhoods
Downtown Greenville, around Main Street, Falls Park and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, has turned into one of the busiest city centers in the region, with restaurants, condos and offices. Container placement there is about loading areas and private lots, arranged with the property manager.
Close-in neighborhoods along North Main, Augusta Road, Overbrook and the Pettigru area have older homes, mature trees and narrower drives. Renovation is steady, and so are teardowns and rebuilds.
The suburbs, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Greer, Taylors and Five Forks, are newer, roomier and governed by HOAs. Those are separate cities or unincorporated county, each with its own rules.
Industry and growth
The Upstate's manufacturing base along the I-85 corridor, including the automotive plants and their suppliers, has pulled in workers and new housing. That means relocations, builder cleanup and commercial work. Industrial sites usually have the room for 30 and 40 yard containers.
