Dumpster rental in Marietta: city, county or HOA?
For a dumpster rental in Marietta, the container almost always ends up on the driveway, so the first question is not the city's rules but your subdivision's. East Cobb is built around neighborhoods from the 1970s through the 2000s, many with active homeowners associations, swim-and-tennis clubs and covenants that cover trash cans, trailers and, often, temporary containers. A quick look at the covenants saves an awkward letter.
The second question is jurisdiction. The City of Marietta covers the historic core around Marietta Square and a band of neighborhoods around it. Much of what people call Marietta, including most of East Cobb, is unincorporated Cobb County. If you ever need the street, you need to know which government owns it.
Typical Marietta projects
Housing here is mostly two-story brick-and-siding homes on decent lots, with basements in many of them thanks to the rolling ground. That means a lot of basement finishes and tear-outs, deck replacements and kitchen updates as the houses of the 1980s and 1990s get their second renovation. Downsizing cleanouts are steady as long-time owners move on.
Closer to the Square, older homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s bring plaster, old millwork and the occasional outbuilding. Lots are narrower and trees are bigger, so measure the driveway and look up before the truck comes.
Kennesaw Mountain and the hills
Cobb County is not flat. Driveways near Kennesaw Mountain and across East Cobb often slope toward the street or the house. A hauler can usually find a level patch, but tell them about the slope, and do not let the container sit where runoff from a summer storm will wash under it. Rain also adds weight to an open load; tarp drywall, insulation and carpet.
